About me
My name is Chris Hartung, and I work as a Technology Strategist at VMware.
My work sits at the intersection of business strategy, architecture, and execution. I help organizations move from early ideas and workshops to concrete value cases, future-state architecture, implementation roadmaps, and adoption in production.
What matters to me is not strategy in isolation, and not technology for its own sake. I am most interested in the full path from identifying the right use cases to turning them into practical outcomes that create measurable business value.
Before joining VMware, I worked at Volkswagen Financial Services in architecture- and product-related roles. My earlier background as a Systems Engineer at Rossmann still shapes how I approach problems today: pragmatic, structured, and focused on what works in real environments.
This blog is where I write about technology, strategy, architecture, and the practical challenges of turning ideas into operating reality.
